Hey!
When I was around 10 years old, my family went on a summer holiday to Turkey.
I was excited about the endless possibilities of fun.
I discovered the hotel was hosting a ping pong tournament.
I immediately rushed to sign up.
The guy running the tournament told me I was too young to participate.
I didn’t want to give up.
So, I made him a deal: “Let me play you. If I win, it’s only fair that I get to join.”
He laughed, probably thinking I had no chance, but agreed.
To his shock, I beat him 11-0.
He kept his word, let me in the tournament, and I ended up winning the whole thing.
This memory has stuck with me, not just because of the win but because of the lesson:
Never underestimate people or situations.
Whether it’s on a ping pong table or in business:
Always be prepared, stay determined, and don’t let anyone tell you what you can’t do.
